&#038; Craft Show</p>
<p>The American-Polish Century Club is pleased to announce the American Polish Festival &#038; Craft Show, July 6-8, 2012, on the grounds of The American Polish Century Club, 33204 Maple Lane, Sterling Heights, Mi  48312.</p>
<p>Our Festival draws thousands of friends and families from all around Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. Our spirited festival features live music and dancing.  Highlighting our Festival are the biggest names in Polka Music, along with finest Polish Dance Ensembles in Michigan.  Try our delicious Polish Kitchen, the Polish Pub-n-Grub, and Beer Tent or visit anyone of the many vendors that take part in this event.  There will be a Traditional Polish Mass on Sunday at 12:00 Noon.  Stroll our Outdoor Craft Show featuring over 50 different crafters displaying their fine works.  Admission to the festival is free to the public, although a $5.00 daily parking fee is required.</p>
<p>Friday, July 6:  Festival opens at 4:00pm till 1:00am.<br />
Craft Show 4-9pm.  Music &#038; Dancing 4:00pm-12:00pm by The K-Tone alternating with Tony’s Polka Band.  </p>
<p>Saturday, July 7: Festival hours 10:00am – 1:00am<br />
Craft Show 10am-9pm.  Music &#038; Dancing by Tony’s Polka Band. 12-4:00pm and 4:00-12:00am DownTown Sound alternating with Polka Country Musicians.</p>
<p>Sunday, July 8: Festival hours 11:00pm – 8:00pm<br />
 Polish Mass @ 12:00pm, featuring the American Polish Century Club Choir.  Craft Show 11-8pm.   Music &#038; Dancing by Polka Country Musicians 12-4pm, The Downtown Sounds 4:00pm – 8:00pm.  </p>

<p>At the largest Polish Festival in Macomb County, Michigan, the 1<sup>st</sup> Annual Pierogi-Eating Contest was held on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the American-Polish Century Club grounds in Sterling Heights, Michigan.</p>
<p>In a violent display of mass consumption, Matt Holowicki of Plymouth, Michigan not only beat the competition with 49 pierogis eaten in the ten-minute span, but also broke the national record of 42 pierogis held in California last year.</p>
<p>The winner, Matt Holowicki thanked all of his supporters, and as an automatic entrant into next year&#8217;s contest vowed to return.  He was later seen in the dessert line for <em>nalesniki.</em></p>
<p>Pierogi-eating contests are traditionally held at Polish festivals throughout the U.S..  Prizes at this event for the top three devourers were: trophy and cash prize for the champ, cash only for second and third place finishers.</p>

<p><strong>Eligibility: </strong>The contest is open to all persons who are 18 years of age or older.</p>
<p><strong>Entrance Requirements: </strong>Please carefully read the Pierogi-Eating Contest Application and Rules, including the eligibility requirement and waiver of liability provisions. Complete this document and sign it below. All entry forms become the property of the American Polish Century Club, Inc.</p>
<p><strong>Contest Rules:</strong></p>
<p>1. Application and fee must be turned in on the day of the contest.  20 contestants limit.</p>
<p>2. Contestants will compete against each other. The object is to eat as many Pierogi as possible in any style (with water, if desired) within the allotted time of 10 minutes.</p>
<p>3. Contestant sign-in will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at 12:00 PM. The contest will start at 1:00 PM.</p>
<p>4. Contestants must not touch any pierogi until the starting signal is given.</p>
<p>5. Contestants must stop eating when the ending signal is given. Contestants may not put additional pierogi or a portion of a pierogi into their mouths after the ending signal, but will be allowed 15 seconds to chew and swallow any pierogi already in the mouth.</p>
<p>6. If a contestant vomits or regurgitates at any time, that contestant is disqualified.</p>
<p>7. Judges will be on hand to assure adherence to contest rules and to tally the number of pierogi eaten.</p>
<p>8. Winners will be determined by counting the number of entire pierogi eaten.</p>
<p>9. All contestants agree to the use of their name and likeness for advertising or trade purposes.</p>
<p><strong>Prize Awards: </strong>$250 Cash Prize &amp; Trophy will be awarded to the first place winner.  Trophies will be given to second, and third-place finishers.</p>
<p><strong>Acknowledgment of Risks and Waiver of Liability: </strong>Contestant acknowledges that there are risks of personal injury, illness, and possible loss of life, and risks of damage to or loss of personal property, which may result from participating in this contest. Contestant, as a condition of entry, agrees to indemnify and hold harmless American-Polish Century Club, its affiliated companies, their vendors, their advertising, promotion, and public relations agencies, co-sponsoring companies, and their affiliates and agencies from any and all claims and costs, including attorneys’ fees, arising from or in connection with participation in this contest or the receipt or use of any prize.</p>
<p><strong>Final Authority: </strong>The American Polish Festival has the final authority regarding all contest-related matters.</p>
<p><strong>Certification and Signature: </strong>I certify that the information provided on this application is correct and that I have carefully read, understood, and accepted the terms of the American Polish Festival’s 2012 Srodek’s Pierogi Eating Challenge Application and Rules. <p>The announcement of the 2012 Heritage Queen &amp; Court were announced on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the monthly APCC dinner meeting.</p>
<p>The Ladies Auxiliary Crowned the 2012 APCC Heritage Queen, Ms Kasia Dziuba and Princess, Ms. Amanda Jaczkowski.  Thanks to Chairwoman Krista Brady and the Ladies Auxiliary for all their hard work to put together this program.  The Queen and princesses will represent our club as its &#8220;heritage ambassadors&#8221; at parades, festivals, club and community events for one-full year!  They will also reign at this year&#8217;s 2012 American-Polish Festival at APCC grounds on July 6, 7 &#038; 8, 2012</p>
